The Project
This industrial project involved the design and construction of a large distribution centre across two buildings with a combined floor area of 40,000m2. The development includes two large warehouses with shared fire infrastructure . Each building housers up to eight sperate tenancies with associated office space. Each unit is designed for flexibility with recessed docks and, large deep awnings, separate car and truck access along with 253 car parking spaces.
The estate is well connected to the Cumberland Highway and is in close proximity to the M4.
Our Director Seb Howe was appointed as Accredited Certifier and Principal Certifying Authority by Goodman for this development.
The Challenges
The development involved significant challenges due to the covid 19 pandemic as well as well as multiple fire engineering performance solutions relating to emergency vehicle access, travel distance issues and rationalised smoke exhaust system.
